John Coy Malachi Parks

Funeral services celebrating the life of John Coy Malachi Parks, 27, of Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 19, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home with Rev Ryan Lowe officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

The visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.

Malachi was born on November 26, 1997, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on September 13, 2025. Malachi spent his life rooted in the West Monroe community where he was raised and was raising his young son.

Malachi was a man of many passions and a vibrant personality. He had a passion for collecting guns and knives and found joy in the outdoors through hunting. However, nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his beloved son, Oliver Ray Lyn Parks. The bond they shared was the center of Malachi’s world and the source of his greatest pride.

Known for his sharp mind and insatiable curiosity, Malachi was exceptionally well-read and carried with him a wealth of knowledge on a wide range of topics. His love for books fueled countless conversations… some insightful, others humorously overconfident, but always engaging. His intelligence was matched by a goofy sense of humor that endeared him to those around him. Whether making someone laugh or diving into a spirited debate, Malachi left an impression wherever he went.

He will be remembered as a great father, whose love for his son knew no bounds. His immediate and extended family, who all love him dearly and miss him greatly, will mourn the loss of a young man taken too soon.

His memories will bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
