Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. Johnny Paul Owens, 72, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Nick Wagner officiating.  Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Owens was born on March 15, 1951, in Monroe, LA and passed away on May 25, 2023.  He was a member of the 2^nd graduating class of Wossman High School in 1969, where he played Basketball.  Johnny was an avid sports fan.  LSU was his favorite football team.  He enjoyed Westerns and Crime Shows, Bull Riding, and Jimmy Buffett.  Johnny was a fan of country music, but he especially loved spending time with his grandkids, family and friends.  Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Jessie Paul Owens; mother, Ida Mae Cooksey Owens; brother, Glenn Cooksey Owens; and his brother-in-law, Wayne Hutson.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Altheia H. Owens; daughter, Leah Owens Webb and husband, Wes Webb Jr.; granddaughters, Taylor and Autumn Webb; his twin sister and caregiver, Judy Hicks and husband, Mickey; niece, Kristi Fleming and husband, Perry; nephews, Dee Hutson and wife, Mandy and B.J. Hutson; great nephews, Chance Fleming and significant other, Hannah, Chris Fleming and significant other, Hagen, Gage Hutson, Brody Hutson, Hayden Hutson; great nieces, Katie Hutson and significant other, Graham, and Holleigh Kate Hutson; great great niece, Oaklee Fleming; along with a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jerome Baff, Marty Jeffery, Ricky Ward, M. “Stretch” Scott, Travis Purdy, and Paul Ledford.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Big Mike Hamilton, Jimmy Finch, Foley Nash, and Al Marchand.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until Service Time on Wednesday.

Johnny was a good man and will be dearly missed by all the people who’s lives he touched.
