Funeral services celebrating the life of Kathryn Brantley Boyd, 98, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 17, 2025, in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Interment will follow immediately after at the Brantley Family Cemetery, 5217 Hwy 588, Pioneer, Louisiana, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Kathryn was born on June 15, 1927, in Oak Ridge, Louisiana, to Charles and Corrine Brantley and passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. She grew up in Curtis, Arkansas, surrounded by her seven siblings: Bettye Ingram, Charles Brantley, Kenneth Brantley, Bobby Brantley, Wayne Brantley, Peggy Johnson, and Maxine Osborne.

In 1949, Kathryn married the love of her life, Roy “Spec” Boyd. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and hard work. She worked at Twin City Employment, then alongside her husband and son at Roy Spec Boyd Motor Sales, and later with her daughter at N-Bliss. Kathryn was known for her dedication, her warm smile, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.

A devoted member of West Lakes Seventh Day Adventist Church, Kathryn’s life was a testament to her faith. She loved God deeply, cherished her church family, and embodied the qualities of grace, compassion, and kindness.

Kathryn was classy, loving, and Godly. She was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was the heart of her family. She delighted in spending time with her loved ones, cooking delicious Sunday meals, and especially making her famous cornbread and roast. She was a talented dancer, often enjoying performing with the Mike Sullivan dancers at the senior center. Her joy, warmth, and laughter filled every room she entered.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy “Spec” Boyd, and her siblings.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her children, Ronnie Roy Boyd and wife, Gail, and Sara Boyd Johnson; grandchildren, Lori Boyd Burke and husband, Paul, and Dr. Marla Johnson (Michael Heflin); and great-grandchildren, Madalyn Burke and Natalie Burke. She is also remembered with love by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Paul Burke, Brant Ingram, Perry Brantley, Roy Daniels, Kennedy Guest and Brayden Roesch Honorary pallbearer will be James Jones and Tory Turnbow

Kathryn’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and in the countless lives she touched with her compassion, her faith, and her unwavering devotion to her family
