Kenneth Ardis "Ken" Peters

A private family service was held for Kenneth Ardis “Ken” Peters, 76, of Monroe, LA. Ken was born on October 10, 1948, and passed away on June 2, 2025.

Ken was a member of Temple Baptist Church and later North Monroe Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a beloved father, devoted husband, grandfather, and a pillar of his community, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness. His optimistic outlook, infectious laughter and kind heart inspired all those around him. Ken’s spirit was bright, and his special gift was making everyone feel loved and appreciated. He will be deeply missed, but he was highly devoted to God and looked forward to reconnecting with friends, his dog Buster, his wonderful wife Gayle, and his mother Lillian. His favorite baseball team was the NY Yankees, and his favorite football team was the NOLA Saints. As a dedicated employee of the phone company for over 50 years, Ken spent his career connecting people and communities. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family. Ken had a passion for sports, liked a good joke, and loved to laugh with his family and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Ardis Peters; mother, Lilian Mae Peters; beloved wife of 50 years, Virginia Gayle Peters; sister, Sandi Russell; brother-in-law, Rob Russell; brother, Thomas Peters; brother-in-law, Bill Becton; his best furry friend, Buster; and his loving grand dog, Graham.

Survivors include his children, Todd and Jerri Kay Peters and Mandy and Michelle Peters; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carole Becton, Sherri Traylor and Debbie and Don Willis; in-laws, Pat and JR Villarreal, Scott and Kathy Kemp, Bogie Harmon, Steve Wilson, Thomas and Cathy Harmon; grandchildren, Kaylin and Jacob Blackburn and Lukas Peters; great granddaughter, Evelyn Gayle “Evie” Peters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
