With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Eugene "Kenny" Smith, who was born on December 21st, 1957, in Rayville, Louisiana and passed away on July 12th, 2026.
Kenny lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, loyalty, and love. He dedicated his entire career to the construction industry, a profession he genuinely enjoyed. His commitment to his work, along with his honesty, humor, and dependable nature, earned him the respect and admiration of countless coworkers and friends throughout the years.
Kenny was a giver, never a taker. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or bring a smile to someone's face. Those who knew him will remember his kind heart, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering integrity.
Outside of work, Kenny was a devoted LSU fan. Whether he was cheering on the Tigers during football season or proudly wearing purple and gold, his love for LSU was just another reflection of his loyal spirit and Louisiana roots.
Above all else, Kenny's greatest treasures were the people he loved. His devotion to his beloved mother, Mae Dell Smith, and to the love of his life, Lynn "Lily" Crawford, was beyond measure. The love they shared was the foundation of his life, and his absence will be deeply and forever felt by them and by all who knew him.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, William Denver Smith; and his sister, Jackie Smith Green.
He is survived by his cherished mother, Mae Dell Smith; his forever love, Lynn "Lily" Crawford; his sister, Patsy Smith White; brother-in-law, Gene White and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his love and friendship.
Kenny was truly one of a kind. His generous spirit, steadfast loyalty, and compassionate heart leave behind a legacy that will never fade. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, those who loved him find comfort in the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the countless lives he touched.
Though he is no longer here to cheer on the Tigers, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
