Kristen Douglas Robinson, age 73, died in Monroe, LA on Thursday, December 21st, 2023, after a short battle with renal cell carcinoma. He was born April 25, 1950, in Bangor, Maine to Edward and Loann Robinson and was the oldest of 5 children. Kris earned his associate degree in the early 1970s in Marine Biology. He then went on to earn his certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist while living on the island of Oahu in Hawaii for 9 years. He followed friends to Monroe, LA in the late 1970s or early 1980s and began working at St. Francis Medical Center in their newly formed Respiratory department. He went on to work as a Respiratory Therapist for 40+ years touching many lives and training new generations of medical professionals.
Kris was married to his wife, Michelle Worster Robinson, for 33 years. They shared a love of travel, and his biggest passion was his love for Disney. They enjoyed too many trips to count to Disney World and Disneyland, and they loved to cruise on Disney cruise ships. His other passions were music and his family. He had a love for high end audiovisual equipment, good music, movies, and sports. He was an avid fan of the LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints, and the Manchester United Football Club. Kris very much loved and was proud of his 3 children: Ainsley, Blake, and Alex and his two grandchildren: Abbey and Barrett. He loved to be involved with and attended their dance performances, Tee ball, soccer and baseball games, church performances and boy scout activities. He was their number one fan and was involved in their daily lives and careers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Loann and Frank Edward Robinson, his sister-in-law Yvonne McDonald, and his beloved puppy Zoey. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Robinson, and his children: Ainsley Elizabeth Smith and her husband Brandon and their children: Abbigail Marie and Barrett Walker, Kristen Blake Robinson and his wife Lauren and James Alexander Robinson. He is also survived by his siblings Darlene Wangberg and her husband Scott, Scott Robinson and his wife Liz, Dane Robinson, and Shelby Robinson-McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his sons Brandon Smith, Blake Robinson and Alex Robinson, his brother-in-law Alan Worster, and nephews Adam Worster and Scott Weeks.
Funeral services For Kristen Douglas Robinson will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Mulhearn’s Funeral home at 2308 Sterlington Road in Monroe, LA. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park at 623 Hwy 80 in Monroe, LA. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until time of service.
