Funeral services for Mr. Larry Means Bennett, 101, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with David Burkett officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the funeral home in Monroe.

Mr. Bennett was born on September 5, 1925, in Belleview, LA, and passed away on September 8, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. He was a Navy Veteran who served in WWII. He was also an auxiliary police officer for the Monroe Police Department, as well as a Lifeguard at Forsythe Pool.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Bennett; mother, Adelyne Bennett; father, G.A. Bennett; biological father, Julius H. Means; daughter, Kristy Bennett Dean; and brother, Julius M. Bennett.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Kilcrease (Ronnie) of Sterlington, LA; grandchildren, Connie McCarter (Steve) of Apollo Beach, FL, and Seth Borden of Monroe, LA; great grandchildren, Paul Gilliland of Lakeland, FL, Stormie McCarter of Lakeland, FL, Brittany Colding, and Timothy McCarter (Tiffany) of Lakeland, FL; and one great great grandchild, Riley Colding of Lakeland, FL.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Voorhies, Karl Voorhies, Scotty Dyer, Grafton Martin, Sonny Harrington, and Patrick Kennedy.
