A Celebration of Life for Mr. Lawrence Alexander Worley, Jr., 72, of West Monroe, LA, will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. David Lindemann. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Larry was born August 14, 1951 and passed away on May 2, 2024 after a 20 year battle with Parkinson’s. He was born in Monroe, LA. He was a standout athlete while at Neville High School. Graduated from ULM. He worked as a Medical Sales Rep for over 40 years. He and his family moved to West Monroe 40 years ago where he lived for the rest of his life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Mr. Worley served his country in the United States Army. He retired after 20 years of service with the US Army Reserve. He always enjoyed fishing, golfing, spending time at the beach. He was a big fan of music. One of his favorite things to do was attend the Song Writers Festival in Gulf Shores year after year. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sitting around telling stories and laughing. He was always known for his sense of humor, jokes, and infectious laugh. And he never lost his laugh and sense of humor until his days of passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Worley, Sr. and Adele Luffey Worley; and father-in-law, Joseph Goergen.
Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and great friend. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Janis Goergen Worley and their three children. His daughter, Missy and her husband Harrell and their children Alex and Chloe. His son, Josh and his wife Krystal and their son Jace. His daughter, Brooke and her husband Robbie and their children River and Knox. Also he is survived by his sister, Barbara Worley, and his three brothers, Donald and his wife Sue, Ronald and his wife Sandy, and Mike and his wife Debbie. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Gloris Goergen and sisters-in-law, Linda Schaeffer and her husband Charlie, and Lori Goergen. Also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friends he loved.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Donald Worley, Ronald Worley, Mike Worley, and Mike Causey.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Center Well Home Health.
Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
