Linda Ann McCain Armstrong

Linda Ann McCain Armstrong, of West Monroe, LA, passed away October 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 2, 1940, in Winnsboro, LA to Wade and Carmen McCain. She was the youngest of seven siblings. She was a lady with class, grace and beauty and the sweetest spirit. She loved and cared for everyone who crossed her path. She had a passion for helping anyone in need. 

She enjoyed her banking career at Winnsboro State Bank for over 30 years. While she enjoyed working, she also enjoyed traveling after retirement. Working in her yard, walking and visiting in the neighborhood, and spending time with her grandchildren were her favorite activities. She always enjoyed her annual visits from her special North Carolina family. She was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed her volunteer work at Glenwood Regional Medical Center and First Baptist Church of West Monroe. She also enjoyed her time with her fellow book club members. She spent her final months at Gardens of Somerset with her sister-in-law Pauline Braddock and all the new friends she made in memory care. A special thank you to her favorite caretaker, Coa Ellis. 

 She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband, William T. “Bill” Armstrong; Grandson: Jarrett Turner; Siblings: Lavelle McCain, Pauline Black, Eloise Atkinson, Doris Hartwell, W.H. McCain, Ned McCain; Father of her children, Desha Turner; Special nephew: Jerry McCain.

She is survived by children: Tammy Smalley Bishop (Brad); Byron Turner (Deanna), Dana Day (Darwin), and Paul Wade Turner (Sara); Grandchildren: Quad Smalley, Whitney Day, Jameson Turner, Sara Campbell, Casey Smalley, Tyler Day, Jacie Stuckey, Carmen Turner and Carley Turner; 13 great grandchildren; Sisters-in-law: Fay McCain and Pauline Braddock, who were like sisters to her, numerous special nieces and nephews and so many other family and friends who she loved dearly.

Pallbearers: Quad Smalley, Jameson Turner, Casey Smalley, Tyler Day, Jamie Ferrington and Clark McCain.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday October 7, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA with Rev. Bobby Ensminger and Rev. Waymond Warren officiating. Entombment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Monroe, LA. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA.
