Linda Sue was born on February 27, 1940, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 13, 2026.
Linda Sue, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed peacefully from this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and her Savior.
Born and raised in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Linda graduated from Bogalusa High School with the Class of 1958. Soon after, she moved to New Orleans to pursue training as a radiology technician at Charity Hospital. It was there that she met the love of her life, Tommy Billiot. Their bond was immediate and enduring. On June 25, 1960, they were married in Hodge, Louisiana, beginning a beautiful journey together that would span sixty‑five years.
The couple first made their home in Galveston, Texas, where they welcomed their daughter, Susan. Shortly after her birth, they returned to Hodge, Louisiana, where they built a life rooted in family, faith, and community. Linda and Tommy remained devoted to one another until his passing in 2025, their marriage a shining example of commitment and love.
Linda worked for many years as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper for Ewing Timber in Quitman, Louisiana. She was dedicated and meticulous in her work, but her greatest joy, her true calling was being a mother and grandmother. Nothing delighted her more than caring for her family, celebrating their milestones, and making sure each one felt deeply loved.
A woman of strong faith, Linda loved Jesus with her whole heart. She was a cherished member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church and the Adult 9 Sunday School Class, where she found fellowship, purpose, and lifelong friendships. She had a special gift for working with children and babies, offering gentle care and a nurturing spirit wherever she served.
Linda also found joy in the simple, beautiful things of life. She loved flowers and gardening, tending to her plants for as long as she was able. She was an exceptional cook, known for preparing each family member’s favorite dishes with love and care. Her home was always warm, welcoming, and filled with the comforting aromas of meals made from the heart.
Above all else, Linda loved her family. She treasured every moment spent with them and took immense pride in her role as “Nonna.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she celebrated each one with unmatched enthusiasm and affection. To her family, she was the proudest Nonna there ever was, and her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Billiot; parents, Roland and Vaudie Ezelle; sister Doris Whitfield; brothers, Roland Ezelle, Jr. and William Ezelle; and sister-in-law, Beulah Ezelle.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan Billiot Maxwell and husband, Ronnie; granddaughter, Meghan Maxwell McConkey and husband, Josh, Faith Maxwell Jennings and husband, Scott; great granddaughter, Harley Blaire McConkey; niece, Gail Carver Richie and husband, Rob; as well as many other loved ones and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Robin, Megan, Angela, Cheryl, April, and Bro. Ricky. You are truly angels on Earth.
Linda’s life was a testament to love steadfast, generous, and unconditional. She will be missed terribly by all who knew her, but her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Tommy and resting in the presence of her Savior. Until we see her again, her memory will continue to guide, inspire, and embrace us.
