Lorene Lena Easterling Best

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Lorene Lena Easterling Best, 89, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Liberty Grove Church of God in West Monroe, L A with Pastor Joey Pepmiller officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Grove Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Best was born on November 7, 1935 in Kingsland, AR to Troy and Lorene Easterling, who passed away during childbirth. Lorene was raised by her loving grandparents. After graduating from Kingsland High School, where she played Basketball, Lorene travelled to Hawaii to marry Harold Best, who was serving in the United States Navy. After his military service, they made their way to West Monroe, LA, where they made their home and raised their children, Ricky, Rhonda, and Mike. Lorene was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was actively involved in her church, school and sporting events. After Harold passed away in 2009, Lorene moved to Claiborne Creek Retirement. This is where she found a new community and wonderful friends. Lorene passed away surrounded by her loved ones on December 1, 2024, in Hot Springs, AR.

Lorene is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; grandchildren, Angela Best and Jamie Finklea; sisters, Ruby, Louise, and Parthene; and brothers, Lenny, Bill and Hugh.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ricky Best and wife, Debra, Rhonda Finklea and husband, Rex, and Mike Best and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Heath, Ashley, David, and Maegen; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Heath Finklea, David Best, John Oldham, Jake Dewey, Bobby Dale Rich, and Jackie Rich. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Cooper Oldham and Wolf Barnes.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
