Funeral service for Ms. Louise Dye Coleman, 98, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Brother Kely Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in New Forest Cemetery in West Carroll Parish. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until service time Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the funeral home.

Louise was born in West Caroll Parish on May 28, 1925, to Viola and Melon Dye. She had 8 brothers and sisters. Later she would be blessed with 9 stepbrothers and sisters and 1 half-brother. She passed away on December 3, 2023, at Morehouse General hospital.

After marrying she settled in Monticello Community in East Carroll Parish, where she raised 3 children, Edward, Debbie, and Sue. She then moved to Monroe, LA, where she went back to school and became an LPN at the age of 52. She worked at St. Francis Hospital for many years, where she became the supervisor of the Central Supply Department.

She was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church of West Monroe.

A loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Louise lived out Colossians 3:13 “Forgive as the Lord Forgave you”. She was a kind and loving person who thought of others and blessed others with her smile, laughter, and kind ways. She loved to cook, bake, and garden. Louise was well known for Mexican cornbread! And of course, she had a green thumb.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Edward Coleman (Renee) of Monroe, LA; daughters, Deborah Martin (Marty) of Cabot, AR, and Sue Desadier Davis (Benny) of Bastrop, LA, and Rison, AR; grandchildren, Jeremy Coleman of West Monroe, LA, Chase Coleman of Los Angeles, California, Aimee Sample (Wilton) of Shreveport, LA, Melissa Fetterolf of Cabot, AR, Melanie Fetterolf of Cabot, AR, Megan Martin of Cabot, AR, Jared Desadier (Jennifer) of Monroe, LA, and Jana Chustz (Jim) of Walker, LA; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
