Lynn Mercer

A family interment with invited close friends for Lynn Mercer, 74, of Winnsboro, LA, will be held at Lone Cherry Baptist Church Cemetery in Mangham with Rev. Brian Mercer officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA. 

Lynn was born in Wisner on September 28, 1949, and passed away on March 25, 2024, in Winnsboro, LA. He grew up in Richland Parish and was an all-star basketball and football player in Mangham High School. Following high school Lynn attended Northeast Louisiana University where he fell in love with tennis. He was a tennis professional for over 40 years at Kiroli Park. Lynn played celebrity matches with John McEnroe and Farrah Fawcett. He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Mercer and Emma Brunson Mercer. 

Survivors include his brothers, Ronnie Mercer and wife Lois of Mangham, LA, and Larry Mercer and wife Ann of Houston, TX; sister, Ferdonia Sharbono and husband Shelton of Mangham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
