Margaret Moore Lauve, 82, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Father Timothy Hurd will officiate her funeral services.

Margaret was a loving and caring woman who gave her time and her heart freely to others. She was deeply involved in her community throughout her life, serving as a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Junior League of Monroe, the Monroe Garden Club, and the Garden Club of America. She served on the board of the Masur Museum of Art and was a proud member of the Children of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Colonial Dames of America.

A volunteer and fundraiser extraordinaire, Margaret was awarded the Mary Lee Milam Service Award by Usrey for developing Blend of the Bayou and for being instrumental in its continued success.

Above all, Margaret loved bringing people together and making everyone feel welcome. For more than forty years, she opened her home every Wednesday night to a treasured group of dear women friends. Those Wednesday evenings became a cherished tradition filled with friendship, laughter, good conversation, and countless wonderful memories. Her home was always a place where others felt welcomed, loved, and cared for. She was also an avid bridge player — though to her family, she will always be the “Grand Life Master.”

She will be remembered for her generous heart, her love for others, and the many lives she touched along the way.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Middleton Moore; her father, James Walter Moore, Sr.; and her daughter, Susan Lauve.

She is survived by her husband, John Gilbert Lauve; her children, John Lauve, Jr. (Beth), Elizabeth Hall (Brian), Robert Lauve (Tracey), and Michael Lauve (Crystal); her grandchildren, Brooke Lauve, Olivia Ardoin, Gracie Hall, Abbie Hall, Lanie Hall, John Luke Lauve, Lily Lauve, Lola Lauve, Olivier Lauve, Mary Madeline Lauve, and Jack Lauve; her great-grandchildren, Emory and Sylvan; her sister, Christine Gaiennie (Johnny); her brother, James Moore, Sr. (Lynn); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
