Funeral Service for Mrs. Marie Jesse DePoe, 101, of Monroe will be 10:00 AM, Monday, February 16, 2026 at St Thomas' on the Bayou, Episcopal Church, Monroe, LA with the Rev. Rita Jefferson Officiating. Private Interment at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marie DePoe was a larger-than-life personality. She loved travel, good food and wine, motorcycles, hats, bats, and most of all, her late husband Charlie. She formed many strong friendships and was always up for an adventure. Marie was a long-time member of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church on the Bayou. She was a pillar of both the Church’s and the Diocese’s Altar Guilds. She was a devoted member of the Daughters of the King. Marie goes home to a loving God who knows her well and will be fondly remembered by her remaining family and friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents Dominick Butto and Helen Cummings Butto; Husband Charles E. DePoe: and close friend Angie Clower.
She is survived by cousins Jeannie Carrara and Helen Sillet; Close friends Bette Jo Kauffman, Floyd Stuart, Joe Maciaszek and John Clower; Caregivers: Anita Irby and Sonya White; and many more friends too numerous to name.
Pallbearers: Tim Irby, Holden Irby, John Clower, Joe Maciaszek, Mike Kidd and Carl Brown. Honorary pallbearers: Joel Harris, David Schlatter, Floyd Stuart and John Posey.
Memorials may be made to St Thomas’ on the Bayou Episcopal Church, Monroe, LA.
