Mark Lawson

On Monday, December 26^th, 2022, Mark Edmond Lawson of West Monroe, Louisiana, passed away at the age of 66.

Mark was born on February 14^th, 1956, in Topeka, Kansas to Roslyn ( Bergida ) Lawson and James E. Lawson Sr., the third of five children. He fathered four children with Laurie ( Webb ) Lawson and worked offshore in gas production for forty years until his retirement in 2020. He was fond of the outdoors and a lifelong Saints fan. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rosyln; his brother, James E. Lawson Jr., and his nephew, Robert W. Steen.

He is survived by his father, James E. Lawson Sr.; his four children; Anthony Lawson ( Theresa ),  Nicholas Lawson,  Melanie Lawson Dillard ( Clayton ), and Ashley Lawson ( Kent ); his grandchildren, Nina Dillard, Oliver Smith, and Owen Thomas; his sisters, Valerie Steen, Laura Lewis, and Karen Burke ( Bennett ), and several nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Lawson’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he asked that his ashes be scattered at Caney Lake, his favorite place for fishing, by immediate family at a private ceremony.
