Martha Agnes Jones Golson

March 1, 1931 — June 21, 2021

Memorial services for Martha Agnes Jones Golson, 90, will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 28, 2021, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Officiating will be R.B. Moore. Private family burial will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park cemetery. Agnes was born on March 1, 1931 in Monroe, LA and died peacefully at her home on June 21, 2021. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Key Golson, Jr., her parents F.L. and Neva Breese Jones, her brother and wife, Guy Breese and Barbara Jones, a grandchild, Travis Chandler Golson, and a great-grandchild, Emery Lauren Moore.

She is survived by her sons and their wives: Dave & Ginga Golson, New Braunfels, TX; Russell & Kelly Golson, Covington, LA; Larry Golson & Brigitte Wexler, The Woodlands, TX; Clint & Julie Golson, Shreveport, LA; Jeff & Kristy Golson, Monroe, LA; twelve grandchildren & spouses and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Agnes attended Neville High School, LSU, Charity Hospital School of Physical Therapy in New Orleans, LA and ULM. She retired from North Monroe Hospital as Director of Physical Therapy and was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, Brenda Williams and Reka Talton, as well as long-time neighbors, the Jay Traylor and Larry Voorhees families, for their unending support. The Golson family will always be grateful for the compassion, love and care you provided to our mom.

Memorials may be made to Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston or St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
