Martha Louise Jordan

Funeral Services for Martha Louise Collier Jordan, 85, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 2, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Harry Lilly officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday.

Martha was born November 12, 1937, in Rayville, LA, and left this earth on August 28, 2023, in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Jordan; her parents, J.C. and Eula Collier; and her stepfather, Grady Grafton who joined the family after J.C. Collier’s death; and sister, Marjorie Ann Murphy. 

She is survived by her children, Glyn and his wife, Monica, Mitchell and his wife, Dawn, and Debbie and her husband, Robby; 8 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Martha loved life, and she lived out the love she had in her heart in action and deed. She shared her love for flowers with everyone and it gave her much pleasure to share cuttings of her flowers with anyone who wanted them. She loved to teach her flower hobby to everyone that showed an interest in it.

Mom was quite the seamstress as well. Her daughter, daughters- in- law, and granddaughters benefited from her sewing talents. They were always beautifully dressed! They had matching sweatshirts made and pictures to capture the memory of it all.

Mom loved to worship her Lord. She would sing while she did her housework, as her house was her castle and it had to sparkle. She was an immaculate housekeeper. Mom was also an amazing cook. She followed a recipe in detail and if it instructed to stand on one foot while stirring, she would. Hot water cornbread with mashed potatoes and Swedish meatballs was everyone’s favorite dish. She will be greatly missed, but we as a family rejoice because she is with Daddy and in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus.
