Martha Jane LaSuzzo

Funeral service for Martha Jane LaSuzzo, “Baby Sister” 91, of Monroe, LA, will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe, La with Deacon Tom Deal officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthew Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Martha was born on August 19, 1933, in Monroe to Joseph and Martha Scalia LaSuzzo. She passed away on May 10, 2025, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, The Sanctuary Society and Circle #1. She also was a member of the Beta Delta National Sorority, The Wednesday Night Birthday Girls, and ABWA.

Baby Sister was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph LaSuzzo, Jr. and two sisters, Marian LaSuzzo Slavent and Josephine LaSuzzo Miller.

Survivors include her children, Denise Holliman and husband Rick, Bill McKinney and wife Cindy, Clesi Neitz and Ron, Martha Jo Reeves and husband Mike, and Merwin McKinney and wife Katrina; grandchildren, April Correro, Justin Neitz (Melissa), Amber Hall (Ryan), Chelsi McKinney (Brad), Mallory Hubbard (Collins); Jacob McKinney (Hannah), Jonathan McKinney (Melissa), Chad Reeves (Brittney). Numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Great granddaughters are Harper Hubbard, Chandler Hall, Charlotte Neitz, Emma McKinney, Elsie and Remi McKinney and Logan Reeves.

Pallbearers will be Justin Neitz, Jonathan McKinney, Jacob McKinney, Chad Reeves, Braydon Correro and Jaxon Neitz. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons, Silas McKinney, Liam Reeves, Hudson Hubbard, and Aiden McKinney.

We are deeply grateful for mom’s long-time friendships with Beth Poole and Dorothy Lou Watson.

We would also like to express our gratitude for the kindness and compassion of Dr. Alexis Albin and Dr. KC Sirmon during this difficult time.
