Obituary

Graveside services celebrating the life of Mary Elizabeth Flint Searcy, 90, of Baskin, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 29, 2026, at Pleasant Hale Cemetery in Baskin, Louisiana, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, with Rev. Prentis Gandy officiating.

Mary was born on January 5, 1936 to proud parents, Albert and Annie Flint. She passed away peacefully at her residence.

Mary spent her entire life in Baskin, Louisiana, where her roots ran deep and her heart found its truest home. Mary and Bud had a joyful spirit and a love for adventure, especially when traveling to bluegrass festivals and staying in campgrounds near and far. Those trips brought her laughter, music, and friendships she cherished dearly.

At home, Mary found peace in tending her flower beds each spring and summer, nurturing them with the same care she gave to the people she loved. Her family and friends were the center of her world, and she made every gathering feel brighter just by being there.

Before retiring, Mary dedicated twenty-five years to Richland State Bank, where she was known for her kindness, reliability, and warm smile.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Joel “Bud” Searcy; parents, Albert and Annie Flint; and two brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, James Searcy (Tina), Stephen Searcy (Polly), and Albert Searcy; daughter, Teresa Butler (Jep); ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Flint; as well as a host of friends and family.

Mary’s life was simple in the sweetest way full of love, music, friendship, and the beauty she grew with her own hands. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
