Mary Loretta Jones

Funeral services for Miss Mary Loretta Jones, 75, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 7, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Fr. Mike Thang’wa officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

Miss Jones was born November 15, 1947, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA, and passed away January 4, 2023, at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, LA. She graduated from St. Frederick’s High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM).

Loretta was a resident of Lagniappe Health Care in Bastrop, LA. If you ever went to visit her, you better bring a milkshake with you, or you were heading out to get one soon. She always enjoyed seeing her family. Even though her journey in life was not an easy one, she kept a positive outlook.

Miss Jones is preceded in death by her mother, Ella Rose Crawford Jones, and brother, Bruce Frances Jones.

Survivors include her siblings, John Vernon Jones (Mary), Kathy Jones Cartusciello (Michael), and David Benton Jones; nieces and nephews, Becky Jones Chevalier, Debbie Jones Bart, Jennifer Cartusciello, Richard Jones, Brian Cartusciello, Lacey Jones Holcomb, and Paul Benton Jones; as well as seven great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Vernon Jones, David Benton Jones, Brian Cartusciello, Paul Benton Jones, Becky Jones Chevalier, Jennifer Cartusciello, and Lacey Jones Holcomb.
