Funeral services for Mary “Honey”  Sullivan Taylor, 95, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00P.M. Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd. with Johnny Letlow officiating. Interment will follow at Start Cemetery in Start, LA. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.

Mary Sullivan Taylor of Start, Louisiana, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026.

Mary was born on October 2, 1930, in Calhoun, Louisiana, and was blessed with deep Southern roots and a life rich in faith, family, and love. She leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

Mary was the true epitome of a Southern Baptist woman. A faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, she was strong in her faith, gentle in spirit, devoted to her church, and unwavering in her love for the Lord. Her church was not simply a place she attended; it was a place where she worshipped, served, loved others, and freely gave of herself.

But above all, her heart belonged to her family.

Family was her greatest joy and her greatest treasure. There was nowhere she would rather be than surrounded by the people she loved. Spending time with her family was paramount to her—whether gathered around the table, celebrating milestones, sharing stories, or simply enjoying one another’s company. She had a special way of making each person feel loved, valued, and important.

She was the kind of woman whose love became a part of who you are. Her prayers, wisdom, traditions, laughter, and unwavering love will continue to shape the generations she leaves behind. The lessons she taught, both through her words and through the way she lived her life, will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in knowing that Mary lived a life rooted in faith and love. She faithfully served her Lord, cherished her family, and left an example of what it means to love deeply and live faithfully. Her greatest earthly joy—her family—will carry her memory forward for generations to come.

Her life was a blessing, her love was a gift, and her memory will be treasured forever.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Taylor; her parents, Garrett and Lillie Sullivan; her grandson, Luke Letlow; and her eleven siblings, Elvie, James, Ivy, H.G., Anna, Frances, John, Beatrice, Gladys, Alice, and Billy.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Letlow (Johnny) and Gloria Overstreet (Franklin); her son, Randal Taylor (Kim); her grandchildren, Paul Letlow (Shelley), Matt Letlow (Heather), Charles Barnett (Shannon), Chad Barnett (Jeana), Chandler Barnett, Ryan Jordan (Jennifer ), Sarah Raymond (Daniel), Lindsey Nadler (Rich), and Chelsea Brasell (Blake); her granddaughter-in-law, Julia Letlow; and more than thirty great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love and legacy in their hearts.

Pallbearers are Paul Letlow, Matt Letlow, Chad Barnett, Charles Barnett, Chandler Barnett, and Ryan Jordan.

Honorary pallbearer is Jeremiah Letlow.
