Mary Marcia Faulk Lee

Marcia was born June 29, 1937, in Monroe, Louisiana and died April 27, 2024, In Panama City Beach, Florida. Her parents were Ivey A. Faulk and Mary Thompson Faulk. She graduated from Neville High School in 1955 and Baylor University in 1960. She taught English at Carroll High School in Monroe in the early 1970’s where she met fellow educator and future husband Jerry Leon Lee from Casey, Illinois. 

 

Jerry and Marcia moved to Harlingen, Texas where Marcia was a teacher and librarian in San Benito, Texas and Jerry taught Spanish and Civics. They resided in Harlingen for over 20 years before retiring to Panama City Beach to be near son, Richard Faulk Lee; daughter-in-law, Karen McGill Lee; and granddaughters, Hannah Rose Lee, Chloe Elizabeth Lee, and Emma Kate Lee. 

 

Marcia and Jerry enjoyed traveling and lived in Louisiana, California, Mississippi, Texas, and then Florida for the last 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; son, Richard and family; sister, Alma Faulk Stephenson (husband Bobby) of Monroe; niece, Lynne Stephenson LeBlanc of Baton Rouge; and nephew, Mark Stephenson of Monroe. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, Connor Thomas, Olivia Thomas, Ivy Stephenson, and River Stephenson; and brother-in-law, Dr. Larry Lee (Cindy) of Virginia.

 

A memorial service for Marcia will be held on June 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe.
