Funeral service for Matthew (Matt) David Bratton, 55, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 12:00PM Thursday, May 21, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Thomas Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until service time Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the funeral home.

Matt was born on October 10, 1970, in Monroe and passed away on May 16, 2026, in Monroe. He was an Army Veteran of the Persian Gulf War in 1991 and Operation Enduring Freedom 2010-2011.

Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, B.F. Bratton, Lucille Bratton, Rolla Hunt and Eloise Hunt; and father, Dennis Bratton.

Survivors include his children, Andrew Bratton and Fiancée Tatianna Townsend and their son, David Bratton, Mateline Bratton and husband Ethan Wheelis and their daughter, Elliana Wheelis, and Cason Bratton; mother, Linda Hunt Bratton; and brothers, Robert Bratton and wife Mandy and their children, Lauren Bratton, Ella Grace Bratton, Gina Self, Josie Self, and Abe Self and Gabe Bratton and wife Maria.

Pallbearers will be Robert Bratton, Gabe Bratton, Andrew Bratton, Jeff Reeves, Steven Coyle, and Ethan Wheelis.
