A Celebration of Life for Mr. Willie Max Lowry, 83, of Calhoun, LA, will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Dustin Land officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

 

Mr. Lowry was born December 21, 1940, and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on April 19, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Lowry was a wonderful husband and father, a man of integrity, devoted to his family. He had great faith and loved to be in church, serving in men’s ministry and Sunday school whenever he was able. He loved God and was a patriot and served in the United States Air Force. He was a LSU Tiger fan for sure!

 

Mr. Lowry is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Max Lowry and Lena Helen Lowry-Moore, and by his sisters, Mary Alice Lowry, Anna Margaret Lowry-Gill, and Helen Gladys Lowry-Barrett.

 

Mr. Lowry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ruth Cornell Lowry; three sons, Max Lee Lowry and wife Patricia Lowry, Nathan Andrew Buckles and wife Angela Buckles, Donnie Ray Buckles and wife Rhonda Buckles. He is also survived by two grandsons and three granddaughters, all whom he loved dearly. Mr. Lowry is survived by sisters, Marsha Gayle Lowry-Johns, Merilyn Grace Moore, Tracy Moore and Myra Moore; by brother, Lovelle C. Moore and by numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elara Caring Hospice.

 

Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
