A graveside service for Melinda Johnston Jeffery, 73, of Oak Ridge, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville, LA.

Melinda was born on August 3, 1953, and died on August 16, 2026. She had a passion for music and dancing. She enjoyed travelling with her family and trying out new experiences. She was fond of puzzles. She also enjoyed binge watching old John Wayne films and anything by Elvis.

Melinda was preceded in death by her father, Roy Johnston; mother, Margerite Johnston; son, Micheal Brandon Kolb; sisters, Sally, Rachel, and Suzy; and her husband, Bruce Jeffery.

Survivors include her son, Billy Kolb (Theresa); sister, Eddice Strickland (Jamie); grandchildren, Gage, Alyse, and Tracy; great grandchildren, Savannah, Aidyn, Adleigh, and Alstyn; niece, Amanda Bratton (Justin); great niece, Mayce; and great nephews, Cainnan and Bryce.
