Mickey was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday School and RAs, worked with the youth, and was part of the Men’s ministry and the Building and Grounds Committee. Mickey was also a member of the IBEW Local 446 Electric Union.

Mickey was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He always welcomed everyone with a warm smile and a handshake or a hug. He was a true man-of-God, and he loved sharing the promise of God’s word. This love for God and his love for fellowship meant that he never met a stranger. He always made sure that everyone felt welcomed and loved.

Mickey had a heart for helping others and never expected anything in return. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, going on youth camp trips and mission trips, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking everything from cathead biscuits to homemade ice creams; he had that special talent. He made sure that no matter where he went or what he was doing, his great sense of humor went with him. He made such an impact on everyone through the love he showed and the joy he had in this heart. He will always be remembered. He was truly loved by all.

Pallbearers will be Charles Helams, Ben Raley, Chris Impson, Justin Hollis, Dewey Wood, Ben Bridges, Charlie Bush, and Therion Wyant.
