Rena, born March 27, 1968, was the second daughter of Mary and James Jones of Monroe. As a young girl, she was a stereotypical middle child growing up with her two sisters and a large circle of close-knit cousins and friends. She had a large extended family and spent much of her leisure time with them. As a young woman Rena graduated from Ouachita High School, and later obtained her phlebotomy licensure and medical assistant certification. Throughout her life she took pride and found joy in caring for others through her work in the medical field.

Rena was an extremely tender hearted, nurturing, and caring woman of faith. She enjoyed journaling, cross stitching, singing, and movies. She not only enjoyed watching movies but was known for quoting 80’s rom coms as well. Rena’s quirky sense of humor was evident when spending time with family and friends. Rena had a strong tie to her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Allen Jones of Bastrop, her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Doris Brantley of Oak Grove, and her paternal grandparents, Walter and Corinne Jones of Bastrop.

Rena is survived by her son, Matthew Jones of Monroe, her mother, Mary Ann Jones of Monroe, her sisters: Sharon (Tony) Ardizzone of Calhoun, and Nicole Jones of Monroe, her nieces: Melissa Ardizzone-Darneille (Dan Darneille) of West Monroe and Jennifer (Chris) Prine of Calhoun, her great niece, Ellery Prine of Calhoun and great nephews: Ethan Prine of Calhoun, Carmine and Enzo Darneille of West Monroe, and a host of additional family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tony Ardizzone, Daniel Darneille, Carmine Darneille, Chris Prine, Ethan Prine, John Pittman, Marshall Daniels, Roy Daniels, Brad Rinehart and honorary pallbearer, Donald Wayne Rinehart.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Meadowview Rehabilitation and Medical Center in Minden, LA for their special care of Rena over the last eight years. They would also like to thank each person who prayed, called, visited, sent food, or provided support to the family since Rena’s passing. These actions have truly warmed our hearts and aided in our ability to grieve the loss of Rena as a family.
