Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Nellie Lou Young, 85, of Winnsboro, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro, LA with Rev. James Busby officiating. Interment will follow in the New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA.

Mrs. Young was born on May 8, 1941, in Winnsboro, LA and passed away on May 26, 2026.

Mrs. Young enjoyed cooking, sewing, and reading. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren and always loved receiving flowers from her husband as he would cut them out of his garden.

Mrs. Young is preceded in death by her husband, Will R. Young; son, Will Roger Young Jr. “Little Will”; parents, William and Pollye Stitt; and son-in-law, Ken Kimrey.

Survivors include her children, Kay Dubberly and husband, Steve, Tim Young and wife, Cathy, Lisa Kimrey and Lori Collins and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Erin Jones and husband, Derek, Rachel Terry and husband, Josh, Hunter Kimrey and wife, Nicole, Katie Landry and husband, Noah, Randi Lynne Archibald and husband, Chris, and Ian Collins; great grandchildren, Stella Landry, Sawyer Landry, Judah Terry, Carson Archibald, Wyatt Kimrey, and Beau Kimrey (who is on the way); sisters, Eddie Elizabeth Franklin and husband, Robert and Billie Virginia Marlor and husband, Cal; and her niece, Kristy Newman and husband, Hack.

Pallbearers will be Steve Dubberly, Randy Collins, Ian Collins, Josh Terry, Derek Jones, and Noah Landry.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Friday at Temple Baptist Church.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Mark Cotter and the 3rd Floor Staff at Franklin Medical Center for the excellent care they gave to Mrs. Young.
