Pat was a graduate of Oakdale High School where he was the President of his senior class and was the valedictorian at the age of 16. He attended Louisiana State University and A. & M. College receiving a Bachelor of Sciences in Chemical Engineering in May 1946. While a student at LSU, he served as President and Treasurer for Theta Xi and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and was president of his Senior class in the college of Engineering. He was involved with several other organizations in college including Vice President of “Dagger”, an interfraternity organization. After graduating from LSU, he pursued a course in Business Administration in Monroe and upon completion of this work he was employed by H. Mickel Dry Goods Co. Wholesale. In 1950 he enlisted in the Army and was discharged in 1952. In 1955, he married Dorris Williamson. Later that year he went to work for Merrill Lynch and retired after 40 years of employment with them. Pat was very involved with the community, including serving as Treasurer for River Oaks School. Member of the First United Methodist Church. He was awarded the Golden Star by Theta Xi Fraternity and was a member of the Free Mason for more than 50 years. He also was a member of the Steamboat Society for the Northeast Chapter of the United Way.

Pat was a man of honor and integrity and a true Southern gentleman. He enjoyed spending his time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchild, and grand dog. He was an avid LSU fan and season ticket holder for over 30 years. But most importantly, Pat loved his wife, Dorris, more than anything in this world. He loved and took care of her for more than 68 years.
