Funeral services celebrating the life of Peggy Blades Hatten Ecklund, 79, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 11th, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Interment will follow immediately after at Crowville Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, September 10th, 2026, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Peggy was born on March 6th, 1947, in Madison Parish, Louisiana and passed away peacefully on September 6th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a proud graduate of Crowville High School and devoted her career to serving others. Peggy retired from the Franklin Parish Office of Children and Family Services, where she worked closely with elderly residents in nursing homes, offering care, compassion, and advocacy. Later in life, she continued her commitment to helping the community through her work with the Better Business Bureau of Monroe. Peggy will be remembered for her dedication, kindness, and the steady support she offered to those around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Nell Blades; siblings, Buster Blades, John R. Blades, and Nancy Ayers; and her husband, Larry Ecklund.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her children, Karla Pagans (Rodney), Kara Clowers (Jackie), and Kelly Hatten (Terri); their father, Bennie Hatten; grandchildren, Joshua Hatten (Bonita), Christian Colvin (Kaly), and Connor Pagans (Amber); five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Royce Blades (Karen).
