Funeral services for James “Philip” Pohlman, 58, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe, with Rev. Mark Watson officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe. A vigil wake will be held at 6:00 P.M. following the visitation on Sunday.
Philip was born on November 4, 1966, to the union of James and Judith Pohlman. He lived his life in Monroe, Louisiana, and passed to his heavenly home on September 11, 2025.
Philip was a lifelong member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He was active in the ACTS ministry. He was a graduate of St. Frederick High School and a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University in Clinical Laboratory Science. He was the Clinical Laboratory Scientist for many years at E.A. Conway and its various iterations, currently Ochsner LSU Health in Monroe.
Philip most loved spending time with his family. He was his daughter’s loudest supporter as she played softball and soccer or ran cross country. He has most recently supported her and played with her as they both enjoyed pickleball.
Philip is preceded in death by his father, James “Jimmy” Pohlman.
Philip is survived by his wife of 23 years, Tracie Brooks Pohlman; their daughter, Brooke Pohlman; his mother, Judith Pohlman; his brother and sister-in-law, Hill and Candace Pohlman; nephew, Colin Pohlman; niece, Caroline Hart; and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Robert Edminston, Richard Edminston, Jude Poche, Paul Smith, Todd Newman, and Jeff Shelton.
