Phyllis Geraldine "Jerri" Parks

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Phyllis Geraldine “Jerri” Parks, 77, of Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 AM Monday February 14, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Rev. Ronnie Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ball, LA.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parks died February 10, 2022, at the Ouachita Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Monroe after a lengthy illness. Jerri was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved Jesus, being with her family, cooking, and taking care of others. She worked for the state of Louisiana for 40 years. Jerri was the Regional Administrator of the Department of Health and Hospitals, long time member of Our House Safe Place and helped with The Special Olympics. She spent many years developing and writing programs for Rehabilitation facilities for Addictive Disorders. Jerri sought out and rooted for the underdog. We will miss her beautiful smile and her selfless spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lea and Ralph Nugent; siblings, Joe Nugent, Jane Driggers, Robert Nugent and his wife, Nettie and friend, Joe Beasley.
Survivors: her children, Jake Parks and his wife, Kelly, Lance Parks and his wife, Kelly, Jansen Harvey and her husband, Michael, and Jennifer Parks; grandchildren, Kylie Miller and husband, Kyle, Journee Parks and Jacquelyn Parks, Paige Parks, Houston (Hootie) Rogers, Zac Rogers, Kaleigh Rogers, Georgia Harvey, Parks Harvey, Jackson Moore and Myles Powell; the father of her children, Larry Parks.; Brother and Sisters, Roger Nugent and his wife, Sheila, Judy Pierce and her husband, Mike, Jan Corley and husband, Henry, and Jackie Cole; Sister-in-law, Elaine Nugent; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jay Nugent, Jeff Nugent, Jeramy Lyles, Scott Corley, Chris Daniel, and Mack Cole.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Pierce, Henry Corley, Kevin Tullos, Glen Tullos, Jim Henry, Ralph Nugent.
