Ralph Earl Roberts, known affectionately by family and friends as "Pops," passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at his home in Downsville, Louisiana, at the age of 82.

Born on February 21, 1944, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Ralph grew up to become a young man of remarkable talent and determination. He graduated from Neville High School in 1962, where he distinguished himself as an exceptional athlete, earning multiple state championships in both football and baseball. His athletic accomplishments earned him the nickname Ralph "Tiger Roberts," a testament to his competitive spirit and determination- qualities that would remain evident throughout his life.

In 1963, Ralph married the love of his life, Jeannie Dixon. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in love, loyalty, and devotion to family. Ralph earned a degree in business administration from Northeast Louisiana State College and enjoyed a successful career with the Louisiana Office of Group Benefits before retiring in 2011.

While Ralph achieved much throughout his professional life, his greatest fulfillment came from his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father of three wonderful children, a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren, and a doting great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren. He took great pride in celebrating the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ralph found great joy in cooking for those he loved, listening to music, and spending time with family. His warm personality, quick wit, and natural storytelling ability made him a joy to be around. Friends and family alike will remember his kindness, sense of humor, and genuine interest in the lives of those around him.

Ralph was a man of deep character. Those who knew him best describe him as hardworking, honest, and trustworthy. He led by example, teaching the importance of family, loyalty, perseverance, and treating others with respect. His legacy lives on not only through the family he loved so deeply but also through the countless lives he touched along the way.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Hazel Roberts, and his sister, Shelby Dean Roberts.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannie Dixon Roberts; daughters Kathy Nola (Bobby) and Jennifer Giovingo (Joe); son Matt Roberts (Misty); sister Jackie Jones (Bob); sisters-in-law Billie Barringer and Teddy Varino (Frank); grandchildren Bobby Nola Jr. (Kristin), Beth Laffoon (Jason), Brian Nola, Ben Nola, Anna Giovingo, Amanda Giovingo, and Piper Roberts; great-grandchildren; Olivia Laffoon and Emma Laffoon, Dixon Nola and Eva Kate Nola, and Grayson Nola; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family finds comfort in knowing that Ralph's life was one well lived; a life marked by love, laughter, strong values, and an unwavering commitment to family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on June 11, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with a memorial service immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
