A memorial visitation celebrating the life of Raymond Battillo, 76, of Farmerville, Louisiana will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, January 12, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Raymond was born shortly after his twin brother, Ronnie, in Miami, Florida, on September 23, 1949. He moved to West Monroe, Louisiana in 1963, where he attended West Monroe High School.

He was a popular drummer from the 1960’s to the 1980’s with bands including: White Lightning, Duffey’s Plantation Band, Kenny Bill Stinson, and recorded the song, “Good Connection” with “Five by Five” just to name a few.

After being in the music spotlight, he was known as “Flaming Raymond” while racing motorcycles (hare scrambles and enduros) in the woods from 1979-1995 with his brother, Ronnie. In 1989, he was the Louisiana State Hare Scramble Champion in the 30-39B Class.

Before retirement, he was a truck driver for forty years and then went on to retire in 2019. He was an avid NASCAR and IndyCar fan. He attended many NASCAR races and also attended the Indy 500 four times. Raymond will be remembered as a talented musician, an enthusiastic race fan, loving brother, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred “Millie” Akin; his grandparents, Salvatore Lasprella and Catherine Hill.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Ronnie Battillo; nieces, Meagan Boyer (James) and Morgan Battillo; grandniece, Aubrie Boyer; and grandnephew, Clark Boyer; and aunt, Penny Frasco.
