R C Moore passed away after a short illness at Willis Knighton Hospital on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the age of 87. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church in Fort Necessity, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA.

RC was born on August 7, 1935, to Reuben “Clyde” Moore and Annie Mae Jones Moore in Fort Necessity, LA. He graduated from Fort Necessity High School in 1953. Upon graduation, he joined the US Army serving at the Panama Canal.

Upon his Honorable discharge from the military service, RC made Shreveport/Bossier his home and worked for Williams Pressure Service, later Milbar Testing, over 45 years, traveling the entire United States testing natural gas/oil pipelines. He also worked on the Alaskan Pipeline and in the North Sea.

RC, also known during childhood by his uncles and aunts as “Buddy Boy,” enjoyed fishing and hunting. Many memories were made fishing on area lakes Toledo Bend and Caddo lake or hunting deer in northwest Louisiana.

RC was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Annie Mae Moore; two sisters, Betty Sue Moore and Shirley Gay Ford; and by his wife, Mary Lopez Moore.

He is survived by his brother, Doug Moore of Dallas, Texas; nephews, Butch Ford (Sallye) and Jonathon Ford; niece, Sandra Gullo; and brother-in-law, Joe E. Ford.

Upon retirement his caretaker was his granddaughter, Mary Lynn Watkins, her husband Lee and her children, his great grandchildren, Krystal, Melena, Jeremias, Kassandra, and Sara.

The family would like to thank the Willis Knighton CCU staff and doctors for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

RC was a kind, gentle, soft-spoken soul who loved his entire family. “Rest in Peace.”

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made to the charity of your choice in RC’s memory.
