Funeral services for Mr. Roger Harold Crawley, 77, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Victory Baptist Church in Monroe with Rev. Grant Bamburg and Rev. Scott Howell officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
Roger was born on September 3, 1947, in Jonesboro, LA, and passed away on May 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was a member of the Church of Nazarene and later became a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church. He had a burning passion for the outdoors, and a true gift of helping young and new hunters with their first hunts, helping them embrace the outdoors. Roger was a member of NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Concealed Carry Instructor, and was an instructor for Hunters Education for over 30 years. Roger received the Todd Robert Lifetime Achievement Award from Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for his service in Hunters Education. He is also in the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Hall of Fame. Roger was a former owner of Acme Cleaners for over 40 years. Following that he was a realtor with United Country and United Country Lifestyle Properties for over 10 years.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Vernis Crawley; brother, Dennis Crawley, and nephews, Jeff Crawley and Jayson Crawley.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn “Boo” Crawley; three sons, Todd Crawley and wife Debra, Joey Crawley and his two sons, Conner Crawley and Carter Crawley, and Jamie Crawley; sister, Sue Sheppert and husband David; the mother of his children, Kathy Crawley Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Sheppert, Terrance Burke, Tom Cathey, Keith Lowery, Fred Wayne Spurlock, Josh Rachow, John Elliot, and Walter Cotton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dana Norsworthy, Maurice Oliver, Noel Johnson, and Bill Breed.
Memorials may be made to Ducks Unlimited, NRA, or to Victory Baptist Church in his memory.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Chad Fields, Dr. Weinberger and staff, Dr. Stuart Melton and staff, and St. Joseph Hospice.
