Funeral services for Ronald Hotard, 79, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, with Rev. Do Minh Vu officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Ronald Hotard grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1974, Ronald and his wife, Cecilia, acquired their first Roto-Rooter Plumbing franchise. Through dedication, hard work, and determination, Ronald successfully grew the business and built a lasting legacy. His son, Troy, has continued that legacy through his own hard work and commitment to ensuring the business continues to thrive. His granddaughter, Megan, is also following in their footsteps, carrying on the family tradition.

Ronald enjoyed visiting his second home in Orange Beach and spending time with friends. He loved deer hunting, camping, LSU sports, and, of course, good food. And let's not forget shopping! Some of his favorite purchases were antiques and cars. There was no doubt about it — the man loved his cars!

Ronald also loved to travel. He and his son, Scott, made annual trips together, visiting nearly every Major League Baseball stadium in the country. He also made special memories with his daughter, Natalie, including a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate her 21st birthday.

Above all, Ronald loved spending time with his family and making people laugh. In fact, making people laugh may have been his greatest gift. Wherever he went, he always found a way to bring a smile to someone's face. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making those around him feel good.

After his beloved wife, Cecilia, passed away in July 2025, Ronald carried on her love of dancing. There is no doubt that the two of them are dancing together again in heaven, just as they should be.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia Jean Berlin Hotard; brother, Warren Hotard, Jr.; mother, Marie Alice Hotard; and father, Warren Donald Hotard, Sr.

Survivors include his children, Troy Hotard (Nicole), Natalie Hotard Sistrunk (Jason) and Scott Hotard (Katie); siblings, Debra Hotard Irvine and Cynthia Hotard; grandchildren, Megan Hotard Smith (Jaden), Nicolas Hotard, Andie Forbes, Benjamin Forbes, Jack Hotard, Betty Drew Hotard, Shepherd Hotard, Noah Sistrunk (Logan) and Colin Sistrunk; and one great grandchild, Sage Hotard Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association , in memory of Ronald Hotard to support Dementia care and research at Alzheimer's Association .
