Ronald Lee
Johnson
July 3, 1939 – April 15, 2026
Mulhearn Funeral Home - Monroe
4:00 - 5:00 pm (Central time)
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Ronald Lee Johnson, 86, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, April 17, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating.
Mr. Johnson was born on July 3, 1939, in Jigger, LA, and passed away on April 15, 2026, in Monroe.
Ronald grew up on a farm in Jigger, LA. At a young age, he felt a calling to serve his country and enlisted in the Army, then the Army Reserves, then retired from the Coast Guard Reserves, devoting 20 plus years to our military.
He was a mechanic by trade (absolutely only a Ford), then became service manager but returned to being a mechanic because “cars don’t complain.” He had a deep love for two things, Nascar and his grandson Jordan AKA “Peanut.” His retirement years as “Pawpaw” were lived to the fullest, filled with whatever his little sidekick wanted to do, from projects around the house to building cars, a Shelby Cobra, of course, because there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He cherished the time with family and many of his good friends. He never met a stranger and always had a kind word. Everybody was somebody to him.
He will be greatly missed, but we will forever treasure the many “Pawpaw stories” he left us with.
