Ronnie Arthur Collie

A Memorial Service for Ronnie Arthur Collie will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Liberty Baptist Church in Calhoun, La. with Bro. Bruce McGee and Bro. Werner Aswell officiating.

Ronnie was born October 31, 1944 and passed away June 19, 2023. He served in the United States Army. He proudly owned and operated Circle C Bar trucking company for over 40 years. He was known in the trucking circuit by his CB handle, “Humpty Dumpty”.  His passions were raising American Brahman cattle, collecting classic cars, classic car shows, Harley Davidson motorcycles and Elvis Presley.  He was raised on his parents’ farm, the Double C Ranch, and was taught and believed in hard work ethics from an early age and these beliefs stayed with him his whole life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Frances Collie; maternal grandparents, Mattie Jones and Arthur Bryan and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Ellen Collie.

He is survived by two daughters, Deidre Avant and her husband David, Daphne Turlington, their mother, Iva “Cookie” Collie Haynes; siblings, Terry Collie and his wife Patricia, Diann McPherson, Nellie Littleton, Patsy Taylor and her husband Byron, and Pamela Holloway and her husband Benoit, Jr; four granddaughters, one great grandson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association in his memory.
