It is with profound sadness and deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronny Carroll Haisty on May 29, 2026, as he gently slipped into the loving arms of our Lord. Born on November 7, 1943, in West Monroe, Louisiana, Ronny was a beacon of love, wisdom, and humor throughout his 82 years with us.
The son of the late John Byron Haisty and Emma Lou Phillips Haisty, Ronny was predeceased by his 3 brothers, Donny Haisty, Bobby Haisty, Billy Haisty, his sister Olivia Ray, and his cherished wife, Mary Yvonne Ballew Haisty, with whom he shared 48 beautiful years of marriage. Their union began on July 28, 1962, and were blessed with 3 children. Ronny is survived by his daughter Tammy Carole Haisty Ford and husband Terry Ford, and their children Stacy Lestage, Amy Rey, Amanda Sweet, and Lindsay Simpson; his son Ronny Carroll Haisty, Jr. and wife Melissa Baines Haisty, and their children Jessica Bridges and Jacob Haisty; and survived by his daughter Natalie Tenille Haisty Tipton, and her children Stevon Tipton, Jr., Hannah Tipton, Emma Tipton, and Waylon Tipton. Ronny’s legacy will continue with all together 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, each of whom carry forward the lessons and love imparted by their grandfather.
Ronny graduated from West Monroe High School in 1963. His professional career was marked by dedication, beginning at District 05 of the Louisiana Department of Transportation in 1963. For 30 years, Ronny’s growth into engineering design at the department laid the groundwork for a fulfilling career. He retired in 1993 and his passion for work and exploration led him to traverse America’s beautiful landscapes while driving a tractor-trailer for 2 years. He often spoke of the purple mountains of the West.
After his travels, Ronny returned to engineering, contributing his skills to S. E. Huey Co. in Monroe, LA, for 8 years. In 2003, he achieved a crowning milestone when joined RCH Company Engineering/Land Surveying founded by his son Ron Jr. in West Monroe, LA, and provided his design expertise for 23 years building the family business. His combined 63 year career stands as a testament to his work ethic, his pursuit of excellence, and commitment to family.
Ronny’s life was rich in leisure as it was in labor. A gifted musician, he found joy in all forms of music, whether playing piano in his living room, lending his talent to weddings for family and friends, or strumming a guitar during family beach getaways. His love for gardening was symbolic for his nurturing nature, tending with care and patience, as he did with family and friends.
Known for his quick wit and ready humor, Ronny possessed a unique ability to lighten any mood. His wisdom and kindness were ever-present, offering solace and advice to those in need. A man of remarkable talents that could fix most things, and always ready to lend a hand.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Murray and the medical team at Glenwood ICU for their professionalism and compassionate care during Ronny’s final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Place of Worship in Ronny’s honor, reflecting his Christian Faith.
