Funeral services for Ruth Ussery, 84, of Monroe will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Larry Stafford officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery , under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Ussery passed away Monday, March 29, 2010. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of DAR for forty years. She retired from the Woman’s Clinic after twenty-eight years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger D. Ussery and son, Roger Lance Ussery.

Survivors include her daughters, Jan Dannehl and husband Henry, Deborah Carpenter and husband Arnold; grandchildren, Josh and wife Rebecca, Stephanie, and Brittany Dannehl, James Goodwin and wife Ashley, Christa Anderson and husband Joshua, Deana, and Roger Carpenter; and ten great grandchildren; brother, William T. Simpson, Jr. and wife Marie "Ducky"; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Josh Dannehl, James Goodwin, Roger Carpenter, and Fred Ussery III.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

We want to give special thanks to her sitters, Cherry, Brenda, Joyce, Shade, and Agape Hospice Care and special friend, Kayla Sanford.
