A visitation for Mr. Samuel Salvadore Lasuzzo III, 87, of Monroe, LA, will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with a Vigil Wake service at 6:00 P.M. with Deacon Tom Deal officiating. Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Monday, September 22, 2025, St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Oppelo, AR, under the direction of Harris Funeral Home.
Mr. Lasuzzo was born on June 29, 1938, in Monroe and passed away on September 17, 2025, in Monroe. His grandfather was the first-generation immigrant from Cefalu Sicily Italy. Mr. Lasuzzo was educated by the nuns at St. Matthew Catholic Church School for 12 years and later graduated from Northeast State College now ULM. He worked in the food industry for 35 years, and won the Special Spirit Recognition Award, before retiring from Ben E. Keith Foods. When Mr. Lasuzzo retired in 1997, he and his wife moved into their dream home on Petit Jean Mountain, where he lived until March of this year. His love of cars while owning several antique cars is what drew him up to the mountain. He loved all the car shows and joined every car association up there. He will indeed miss his mountain and all his dear friends that became family. His whole world was his wife, children, and his whole extended family. Family was everything (Famiglia). Mr. Lasuzzo was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Oppelo, AR.
Mr. Lasuzzo was preceded in death by his wife, of 54 years, Wanda Fox Lasuzzo; granddaughter, Brittani Marie Briones; parents, Samuel S. Lasuzzo, Jr. and Louise Laborde Lasuzzo; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins, who loved him dearly.
Survivors include his children, Karmann Lasuzzo Conlee, Darlene Lasuzzo Cannatella, Persia Lasuzzo Briones (David), Samuel Salvadore Lasuzzo IV, and Michael Angelo Lasuzzo (Amy); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Steve Lasuzzo and Wayne Lasuzzo.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Conlee, Ian Conlee, Christopher Cannatella, Jacob Cannatella, Mykhael Briones, and Michael Lasuzzo, Jr.
