Mrs. Sara Lue Hitt was born on June 18, 1936, in Jonesboro Arkansas and passed away peacefully on October 28, 2026, in Monroe, Louisiana. She was the first born of twin girls to Albert and Ruth Holman. Sara grew up on her father’s farm in Jonesboro and would often recall how proud she was to have grown up in her “small community, where everyone knew everyone”. She had a doting mother and a very special relationship with her twin sister, Ollie. Sara and Ollie were inseparable, sharing everything, and were best friends. They enjoyed fashion and shopping together, even dressing alike for many years.
Sara graduated from Valley View High School in Jonesboro and went to work alongside her sister as a telephone operator for Jonesboro Southwest Bell. She worked there for many years until retirement. Sara remained unmarried until age 63, when she reconnected with a sweetheart she had dated when she was young. Bobby James Hitt and Sara Holman married on April 10, 1999. She had waited for him. After their marriage, she moved to Monroe, Louisiana, where she and Bobby lived a wonderful life together. They enjoyed traveling to twin’s conventions, cruises, church activities, and enjoying their new family full of grandkids as they came along. Sara lived a long, comfortable and happy life and will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Mrs. Hitt was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hitt; her parents, Albert and Ruth Holman; and beloved sister, Ollie Sue Smith.
