It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved Yeayea, Sharon Kaye Stevens, who left this world on May 5th, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on December 18, 1958, in Monroe, LA. She was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and briefly attended Northeast Louisiana University. Sharon worked as a Legal Secretary most of her professional life.
Yeayea spent her life caring for others and spreading unconditional love. She was the heart of our family, and truly the best Yeayea in the entire world. Sharon was known for her compassionate nature, and her beautiful, forgiving heart. She always made sure everyone was taken care of and she was truly an inspiration to her entire family.
She brought love and light to any situation and when she loved, she loved wholeheartedly. She was passionate about Camaros, fashion and concert road trips with friends. She loved her bracelets, Atlanta Braves Baseball, and the beach. These pastimes were second only to her love for family and close friends. She was a peacemaker, always making sure everyone around her knew they had a friend and a safe place to go when seeking comfort or advice.
Sharon was a cherished sister, a faithful friend, and above all the most extraordinary Yeayea anyone could have ever imagined. Her hugs were magic, her advice was gold, and her love knew no bounds. We will honor her memory in the way we love others and support friends and family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil J. and Beverly Sue Hearne Stevens; her brother, Jay Stevens; sister and brother-in-law, Hope Carroll and Robert Carroll; and her grandparents, Hardy and Susie Stevens, and Lester and Eloise Hearne.
She is survived by her sister, Toni Stevens Collins; granddaughter, Jacey Caples; niece, Jennifer Carroll Mercer (Denver); nephews, Bradley Carroll (Dawn), Payne Collins and Brody Stevens; great nephew, Harris Carroll; and many cousins whom she adored.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her honor to the cancer charity of their choice.
Rest well, Yeayea. You are and will always be the very best. I love you to the moon and back and to Saturn!
