Sherry Turner Keith was born on August 25, 1941, to Myrtle Hobgood Turner and Raymond Turner. Growing up as a little girl, she spent many days with her grandparents in Bastrop.
She attended Neville High School where she met her lifelong friends, Linda, Sara Lee and Elwanda. During her high school career, she was a majorette for the Neville High School Band. Neville is also where she met her handsome cowboy Malcolm, who would later become her husband. After graduating from Neville High School Sherry went on to attend Northeast Louisiana State College on a ROTC scholarship.
After she and Malcolm married, they had three stair-step daughters, Danette, Stuart and Troy. Growing up with Sherry for a mother was always an adventure. Her love of life and doing things a little differently while raising three daughters, was always fun and full of laughter.
She loved traveling, some of her favorite trips were Alaska, Hawaii and especially the Cowboy Symposium that they attended every year in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but her passion was her little fur babies. She was a lover of all animals and spent her days rescuing and taking care of all God’s creatures. While living in Georgia she started an animal shelter and continued volunteering until her return to Monroe.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her mother-in-law Lorraine Stuart Keith.
She is survived by her Daughters: Danette Keith, (Rhonda); Stuart Keith Scaila, (James) Troy Keith Garner, (Andy); Grandchildren: Miranda Hemrick, (Ryan); James P. Scalia, IV (Jennifer); Mary Ellis Scalia, (Gabby); Hannah Chambers (Chad); Great Grandchildren, Sosie, Ellery, Rhodes,James P, V “Bubba”, Jaxon, Brooks, Savannah, Walker and Bristol.

Our Momma and Grammy will be missed, but we will carry her in our hearts forever.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to St. Francis Medical Center and staff and ACG Hospice for their compassionate care of their mother during these last few weeks.
