Sheryl passed away peacefully at her residence on October 19, 2026, following a brief illness.
Sheryl was a free spirit who found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time outdoors, caring for her flowers and plants, and bringing beauty to the spaces around her. A treasure hunter at heart, she enjoyed searching for bargains and uncovering unique keepsakes that reflected her vibrant personality and filled her home with character.
A barber and beautician by trade, Sheryl devoted her entire career to working alongside her father, James Harper, at James Harper's Barber Shop. Their journey began at the shop on South 2nd Street in Monroe before later moving to Rowland Road in Swartz. Sharing a profession with her father was one of the great blessings of her life and became a cherished part of her family's legacy.
Above all else, Sheryl's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose compassion knew no bounds. She had a remarkable gift for caring for others and always made certain those she loved felt comforted, supported, and cared for.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Patricia Harper, and her brother, Patrick Ramsey.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 23 years, Gary Scott; her children, Amie Sittner and husband Scott, Teresa Hicks and husband Brian, and Billy Joiner and wife Ashley; her grandchildren, Justice and Liberty Sittner, Mia Hicks, Harper, Belle, Jack, Sara Hope, and Bennett Joiner; her siblings, Marty Ramsey, Jamie Grant and husband Eddie, and Rick Harper and wife Becky; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Grant, Jereme Grant, Harper Joiner, Jack Joiner, Justice Sittner, Chris Ramsey, and Matt Ramsey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warrior Alumni Athletic Foundation in support of St. Frederick High School. Contributions may be mailed to 109 Apache Road, West Monroe, Louisiana 71291.
