Funeral services celebrating the life of Shirley Faye Temple Neal, 90, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 22, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with her nephew, Greg Temple officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Start Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. The visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.

Mrs. Neal was born on December 26, 1935, in Rayville, Louisiana and passed away on January 20, 2026, in Ruston, Louisiana.

Shirley Fay was a devoted member of Lapine Assembly of God Church, where she joyfully taught Sunday School for many years. With a gentle heart and a deep love for the Lord, she helped lead countless children to Jesus, shaping young lives with her kindness, patience, and unwavering faith. She loved her garden and her “critters”.

She is preceded in death by her father, Elijah Temple; mother, Cynthia Temple; brothers, JB Temple, EB Temple, Arnold Temple, Bill Temple, Joe Temple, and Wade Temple; and sisters, Rose Streeter, Irma Temple, and JoAnn Slade.

Those left honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Lori D. Mitchell and her husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Adam Ray Brister (Amanda), Hailey Prine (Logan), Veronica Achanta (Vamsi), and Ronnie Mitchell; brothers, Jim Temple and Huston Temple (Pat); sister, Loretta Odom (Randy); as well as a host of nieces and nephews that she considered her children as well.

The pallbearers will be Coby Brister, Holden Harris, Mike Temple, Billy Temple, Kenny Temple, Logan Prine, Randy Odom, Jeff Streeter, and John Douglas Temple.
