Stephen Dale Walker

Funeral services for Mr. Stephen Dale Walker, 61, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

Mr. Walker was born October 25, 1960, in Monroe, LA, and passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his home in Monroe.

Steve was a graduate of Neville High school. He made many friends through his work on pipeline and refinery shutdowns where he was a Senior NDE Inspector. One of the most enduring friendships he had was with Thomas Benefield of Mobile, AL. Some of his past times were listening to music and playing his drums. He was an avid cook and loved to invite friends over to share his good cooking. He enjoyed deep sea fishing off the coast of Mobile, AL. Steve was a lifetime member of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Albert and Lola Hale; paternal grandparents, Charles R. and Lois Walker; sister, Beverly Ann Walker Duchense; and his father, Charles A. Walker.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara Hale Walker; nephew, Beau Chesney Duchense; stepchildren, Cody Bellamy and Allison Jaralillo; his significant other, Susan Wingo; and children, Jerry Brunson and wife Jerri, Paul Adams and Lorrie Somerville, Anna Lord and husband Eddie, Nikki Johnson and husband Josh, Tori Sylvestri and husband Joseph; thirteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jay O’Neal, Paul Michael Adams, Herman Slade, Thomas Benefield, Beau Duchense, and Jerry Brunson. Honorary pallbearers will be Hurschol Kendricks, Cody Bellamy, and Paul McCowin.
