Funeral services for Ms. Tammie Brown, 56, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 11, 2026, at First Methodist Monroe with Rev. Dr. Brian Mercer officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service in the Parlor at First Methodist.
Tammie was born on November 26, 1969, in Houston Texas and passed away on July 7, 2026, in Monroe Louisiana. At the age of four, she was lovingly adopted by Mary and Gerald Brown, who raised her with unwavering devotion.
Tammie began dance lessons at the age of five and advanced to a professional level by her early twenties. While ballet was her primary discipline, she also excelled in tap and jazz. Throughout her experience, Tammie enjoyed performing in major productions for the Twin City Ballet Company. Her favorites included Swan Lake and the Nutcracker. Her natural gifts were not limited to dance alone, but also in music which she shared that gift with her two boys. Tammie began piano lessons at the age of six and later played for her home church.
A lifelong learner with a heart for serving others, Tammie graduated from Chamberlain University with a Master’s in Social Work. She maintained honor roll status throughout both her undergraduate and graduate studies. After becoming a Certified Social Worker, she worked compassionately to encourage and support families navigating difficult seasons.
Tammie was preceded in death by her father, Gerald W. Brown.
Survivors include her mother, Mary W. Brown; sons; Joey Gardunio and wife Hannah, and Alex Gardunio; and family friends, James Dupree and Amy Greer.
Pallbearers will be Blake Marchbank, Will Ragan, Ben Tellifero, Jimmy Lyon, Gary Hammonds, and Will Killen.
Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe.
